  Deborah Males

Love of nature and design has led Deborah Males to want to produce paintings that grow out of their environment. Ms. Males will paint during the Corpus Christi Festival of the Arts in plein aire (on location) as weather permits. Her demonstration will be conducted over 2 days, March 29th and 30th. Painting and drawing from life, she will discuss concepts that artists have used through history to be better observers.  The work on those days will be the basis for a permanent painting for the  City of Corpus Christi's collection.

Greg Reuter & Jack Gron

Texas A&M University Sculpture Professors Greg Reuter and Jack Gron will present an onsite casting demonstration in conjunction with the Festival of the Arts. The demonstration will feature a mobile foundry facility enabling the artists to conduct a series of castings in aluminum and bronze for the public to view. The resin sand molds that will be cast during the demonstration are to be patterns in bronze that become installed for public viewing on an entry wall of the Art Center. The pieces installed (3-5 castings) are to be bas-reliefs that contain images and symbols that feature aspects of Corpus Christi; especially of the sea and sky. This project enables the public to view the bronze casting process from start to finish. The final results of this workshop will be the basis for a permanate sculpture for the City of Corpus Christi's collection.
