ITALIAN STREET PAINTING and PUBLIC ART TRAM TOURS
9:30am 11am & 12:30pm
Italian Street Painting attendees will have the opportunity to observe a 30 minute power point presentation, interact with Italian Street Painting artist by performing artwork with chalk pastels and observe Italian Street Painting in the making. Each educational lecture demonstration will include a lecture of the history of street painting, images of the artist’s work and of other street painters, discussions of how to make a street painting and a Q&A session. The students will then work on their own creating a street painting following a demo by the artist of how to layer colors, blend, etc. Space is limited and registration is required.
Public Art Tram Tours in a city rich in public art creates a museum without walls, thus provides publicly accessible art. The Festival of the Arts offers a fifty minute docent guided Public Art Tour created in 2008 for its annual artistic event. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the Public Art Tour which follows a specific route along the Bay and S.E.A.town, the historical uptown and downtown areas, which showcase approximately 45 art items of the City of Corpus Christi’s Public Art Collection.

Sand Scupturing with Chip Cooper
Visit the Festival's huge sandbox containing yards of sand for sand sculpturer, Chip Cooper, who will begin creating a sand sculpture on Friday morning and continue building throughout the festival.
Opening Ceremony & Guest Artists Reception 5:30-8pm
Meet and welcome internationally recognized Italian Street Painting artist, Julie Kirk-Purcell,in addition to the many exhibiting and performing artists, and the vending artisans traveling from across the United States to Corpus Christi to participate in the Festival of the Arts.
